- Step 1Wait at least 60 days since you purchased or transferred the domain from or to Yahoo. You can't transfer a domain sooner than this due to ICANN rules.
- Step 2Unlock your domain by logging into the Yahoo Domain Control Panel and clicking the "Edit Domain Locking" link. Make sure the domain is unlocked.
- Step 3Log into the administrative email
address for the domain, as you'll need to be able to log into this account when the new domain provider sends you an email to confirm the transfer. This is necessary as you'll need to confirm the transfer before it is allowed to take place. - Step 4Locate your authorization code from Yahoo. You can do this via the Yahoo Domain Control Panel.
- Step 5Contact your new domain provider to start the transfer process.
